So here I am, as promised, trying to bridge the gap between Sindhi Language and cuisine, with a series of posts, sharing a letter from, Sindhi script and a corresponding Sindhi dish!Firstly some interesting facts about Sindhi Script:To begin with, there is no consensus about the origin of Sindhi language. While some authorities believe that the language may have its roots in Pre Sanskrit era, in one of the most ancient civilizations known to us, the Indus Valley Civilization, others believe it to be originating from Prakrit. Towards the end of the year 2007, I was toying with an idea to start an online journal to share my mom’s recipes since there was absolutely no presence of Sindhi cuisine across the World Wide Web and slowly but gradually with the help of my techie hubby I was able to start the blog ‘SindhiRasoi.com’ and managed to publish the first post on 29 th January 2008. The rest, as they say, is the history! This baby is now a teenager! Looking back, I am amused how one thing led to another and my life changed with every baby…

A bit late to share a recipe of a seasonal delicacy, the Palli leaves or tender leaves of Chickpeas but then it is better late than never! The season is over but I am still sharing this post as I don’t want this one to become yet another ‘draft post’ waiting for an appropriate time to share it. Every winter season the elderly in the family would get nostalgic about the Palli and dodoh (patted jowar/riceflour/bajra roti) but I never got a chance to cook or taste palli considering that the greens are available only for a short period of…

I really miss sharing good and bad, happy and sad moments of my life with the readers and followers of this blog of mine but when the times are bad, one feels too vulnerable to open up and pour the heart out to the people he or she is not well acquainted with. And yet sometimes withholding piled up emotions or sentiments makes you feel suffocated and drained out. The roller coaster ride of emotions leaves me exhausted and depressed but there ought to be the light at the end of the tunnel..right? January usually is a much awaited month…

Sindhi Food Pop Up!!!! And I am back to blogging! It feels really strange to accept the fact that I have been ignoring the blog since long but I can easily put the blame on the rough times me and my extended family had been through (more about that in my next post)! And while life could be really mean to you, yet there are moments when you can’t help but wonder how comforting and buoyant some incidents could be! Thanks to my blog, I have met many amazing people, online as well as offline, often discussing at length, the nitty-gritties…
