  • Juar Jo Dhodho And some awards

Dhodho is a lovely way to include whole grains in your diet, though the addition of oil makes it bit unhealthy for weight watchers, but it is surely a delight to relish this Jowar flour flatbread with anything you like…..from dal to Subzi, achar to Yoghurt I had came across various different versions to make this, but my favourite way is kneading a soft dough (instead of cooking in pan first) along with chopped onions, bit of oil, coriander leaves and most most most important, Fresh green garlic If I dont find fresh green garlic, I try to make it…

  • Digging deep for clues on higher ground !

Moon and stars sit way up high Earth and trees beneath them lie The wind blows fragrant lullaby To cool the night for you and i On the wing the birds fly free Leviathan tames angry sea The flower waits for honeybee The sunrise wakes new life in me. • Moong(Green Grams)

I am a self proclaimed  Dal lover and I love to make a  different one daily! I enjoy the feeling of  having FILLING FOOD, when I eat dal, rice, roti, subzi combo. Hence I am actually not very fond of Moong, coz this one doesn’t go with rice:-( Moong or green gram  are a storehouse of proteins. Moreover, the nutritious value of the moong increases many folds when these beans are sprouted. So don’t forget to include these green pearls in your regular diet My hubby likes Moong plain and bland, while my son and myself prefer a more spicier version. So I end…

  • Masoor Daal

The week that went  by,was surely a crazy one, with lots of unusual, unexpected, ugly stuff coming in my way of sanity, thereby making me feel irritable (huh ..whats new in that?), frustrated and of course ranting and rambling. Agreed, that some good things did happen, like a Teejri fast (An Indian festival) which I enjoyed this year and getting cleaned my home (that was pending from hell lot of time), the rest of things kept my stress levels high and Blood pressure levels really low. Moreover hubby dear sulked for many days feeling cheated by much hyped awaited launch of…
